There are so many stories we need to hear, not just about access to the profession or even the idea of the profession in the minds of young people, but the judgement and obstacles that aspiring BIPOC professionals have and do face, from structural obstacles to personal biases. And even on entry to the profession, one then is dealing with the racialization of the design profession (clients and class) and even the design of spaces in general. Those obstacles should never stand in the way of a creative impulse that wishes to connect their experience with the future of our collective experience in the built - and otherwise designed environment. We invite a discussion about these topics and more in this forum. Please share your experience here.
